Creating environmentally friendly solar batteries

ArabiaWeather.com - Scientists at the Russian University of Samara have designed solar batteries (photovoltaic converters) to be tested during the first space mission to be launched from the Vostochny space base, which will also be used in unmanned aircraft and electric cars.

The university stated that 13 panels, each 3 cm long and two centimeters wide, manufactured on the basis of germanium metal, will be placed on board the “East-2” satellite, which will be launched from the “Vostochny” space base, which will be installed on April 25.

These panels are 5 times less expensive than those used by companies, and they are environmentally friendly compared to solar nano batteries.
